20th anniversary of Continental Opony Polska

At the invitation of Continental Opony Polska we participated in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Polish branch of the Continental Group. Ceremonial gala took place under the banner "Vision Zero", which means zero accidents, zero injuries and zero fatalities on the roads. The impressive jubilee at Warsaw Soho Faktory was celebrated by over 400 guests from all over Poland and Europe.

There were many surprises waiting for the guests. The first one was transport with special cars to the main place of celebration. While traveling, everyone could see three-dimensional multimedia presentation on "Zero Vision". Total reduction of road accidents and injuries is now unreachable, but increasingly larger number of cities in Europe, the United States and Japan are getting close to this goal. A major step to realization zero vision is using systems supporting the idea of an accident-free driving. Continental company has developed this safety concept for many years, working on solutions eliminating fatalities in traffic accidents and minimizing the number of victims to zero.

Application of safety systems such as Electronic Train Control (ESC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Active Aided Brake Assist (AEBS) or Head-Up Display is a significant part of realization of the “Vision Zero” program led by Continental. Innovations and constant perfection of components and systems manufactured by Continental make the Group play an important role in improving road safety.

Dariusz Wójcik, General Manager of Continental Opony Polska

Dariusz Wójcik, CEO of Continental Opony Polska, solemnly welcomed the guests who arrived for the celebration of the 20th anniversary.

"Zero Vision" concept was present for the whole evening. During the gala, representatives of Continental Opony Polska made a summary of the past 20 years of activity. Indeed we may say that it was 20 years of success. Tripling of the number of brands in the offer, a record turnover of more than one billion PLN a year, or increase the employment by a factor of five are the most important ones. Today Continental is one of the most recognizable tire brands in Poland. Apart from our country, the Polish branch operates on other markets, such as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Kaliningrad Oblast, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. There is no doubt that in success of the company a great role played a great commitment of Mr. Piotr Zielak and Mr. Dariusz Wójcik. During the ceremony Mr. Piotr Zielak (CEO), who has been managing Continental Opony Polska since 2002, officially presented a new CEO - Mr. Dariusz Wójcik- who has been associated with the company for over 17 years. During his speech the new CEO highlighted great potential of the company’s employees, products and services. This potential translates into further strengthening of the company position among its partners and customers. Our company has been working with Continental Opony Polska since the end of 2013. Thanks to the cooperation, we introduced tire pressure and temperature measuring systems to our offer. Last year we extended our cooperation and product portfolio with 16 types of Continental tires with factory-installed CPC sensors.
